my experiences in twitter have been very different from what im used to in order social medias, this might be because of the fact that i created a twitter account for a different reason and because it is my first time using this app. i only created the app because it was a requirement for the class and since its my first time using it i always use the same format for my tweets. I have only been interacting with the other students in the classroom and the professor and i find these interactions very beneficial. especially when im scrolling down the feed and see news and other things that i dint know about. i think twitter might be helpful in my career as school counselor because it can help me keep in touch with students and be up to date with news regard my filed of study.
the digital divide affects educational success because of the fact that this gap of accessibility in technology between different groups of people causes certain groups to be in a disadvantage. people with less technological accessibility have less access to information and lower abilities to use certain programs and software, which decreases their chances of succeeding in education. some of the causes of this digital divide are things like money, because maybe a group of people cannot afford technology, another reason might be culture. this is because of the fact that many cultures are not used to utilizing so much technology, it can also be that the place in which you live has older technology that needs to be updated. As a teacher im sure i will experiences many cases where there are going to be children that might not be able to keep up with the class because of this digital divide. in order to fix that i will improve the accessibility of technology by allowing students to stay after class so they can use the computers and do the work that they can't do at home and also to teach them how to use the technology available in school .
the types of software which i expect to use more as a teacher are academic databases, authoring software and content specific content- software. the reason why i would use these so much is because i will be mainly teaching high school students so academic databases are most necessary for things like papers and oral presentations. i will also use authoring software so that i can create multimedia lessons and web based lessons which are more useful in children of those ages who are more familiar with technology. finally content specific software will be also used because on the fact that the courses in this grade level are more specific. the ones i am less likely to use are concept mapping software because of the fact that concept maps are not that common in this grade level. the other software which will not be as used is the educational games because again these are normally not used in high school.
